The Health Communication Research Group carries out research and development projects to design, rethink and evaluate models and strategies for health information, education and communication, using different social communication strategies that capture the interest of the community, social sectors and health workers. It seeks the formation of a more informed public, and the increase of self-care in specific aspects of individual and collective health, thus democratizing knowledge so that populations can achieve a better level of health.

The research group has been characterized by its integral work articulating actors and knowledge from different faculties, programs and disciplines of the Catholic University of Manizales (UCM) and external entities that make contributions from their specific knowledge.

The objective of the group is to generate knowledge on health communication strategies based on health education models that promote healthy lifestyles and have an impact on public health policies..
